Brian O. Amparo from the Caraga Region concluded his Palarong Pambansa career on a high note by securing the silver medal in the boxing event under the 46-48kg Youth Boys Minimum category. The competition, held in Marikina City from July 29 to August 5, 2023, also marked his last participation in the Palarong Pambansa as he graduated from secondary school.
Amparo set a high standard for the young athletes from Caraga with his performance at the Palarong Pambansa 2023. As he exits the scene, the region looks ahead to the Palarong Pambansa 2024, which Cebu City will host.
This year, ten promising boxers from the Caraga Region will compete at the Cebu Coliseum on Sanciangko Street. The team is determined and ready to follow in Amparo's footsteps, aiming to bring home medals for their region. Manuel O. Acedera, Mike Cliford L. Tesoro, Lysander E. Yagong and Lorenz Kit G. Pallares were Palaro players in 2023, adding valuable experience to the team.
