Being faced with children of different behaviors and upbringings for quite some time is a โno jokeโ experience. Teaching them for 24 years was truly challenging, especially for an individual not used to being with little kids since she belonged to a very small family.
In 2000, when she was first assigned to a far-flung school in the district, the truth came into her mind: โThis was really it.โ There is no room for her to retreat or surrender. Instead, the fact that she needs to learn to deal with them begin to adopt the environment, and start to love the situation has to sink in within her.
Her first school assignment became her training ground for seven years. There, she worked hard and gave her best. She started to build her name.
It was not because she was in the barrio school that she would not perform well. Despite the distance and the learnersโ difficulty learning, she strived harder for excellence. As a teacher-coach, she still has trained pupils who have won the contests not because she was great but because she strongly believed that children only need to be practiced, practiced, and practiced. Diligence, therefore, is the key for her.
After seven years, she was finally transferred to the school where her family resided. Campo Elementary School of Bacuag District was a home for her. There, she continued her job, which the firsthand she never recognized was an innate passion she had.
She was a teacher by profession, but as a human being, she was a womanโonly a woman, they may all sayโa woman others thought was vulnerable and weak, a woman some people saw as uncompetitive.
They just never knew that she had all the power to be who she was in her own very special way.
She was a woman, yes! She is sensitive by nature yet mindful of what is happening around her. She does her work with all the love and elegance. When it comes to pain, she keeps it in silence, and when it comes to her family, she will do everything for them.
She is Juana-wanna be the best with the heart.
She is Juana, so selfless and simple.
Like any other Juana, she bears the LOVE that makes the world go round.
