𝗢𝗹𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗮𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 (𝗥𝗙𝗢𝗧) 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗼 𝗼𝗻 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟭𝟳-𝟭𝟴, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯, 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗶𝘀𝗹𝗶𝗴 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗮𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗦𝘂𝗿. The theme, "Reinforcing 21st Century Learning and Fostering Creative Industries Through Talents and Skills Exhibition," aimed to provide opportunities for public and private elementary and secondary school learners to showcase their talents and skills in their context. The event also served as a platform for strengthening the competencies of teachers and students by learning from the panels of experts. Olvina's achievement reflects the significant association between what students learn in school and their performance in the division and regional activities. Through her victory, Olvina highlighted the importance of facilitating meaningful communication. Her ability to translate spoken language into sign language gives hope to individuals who have lost their hearing capacity to connect with each other. For them, sign language interpretation opens the door to a more effective exchange of worldviews, enabling them to express their needs, wants, and ideas, thus, improving their quality of life. Olvina's achievement, and the RFOT itself for that matter, also raised public awareness and sensitivity to the needs of people with hearing impairment, that they are no different from the rest of us, and that they have special needs just like the rest of us. In a way, the Department of Education has been a strong advocate to be their voice. Finally, Apple's success is no small feat because she and the other contestants have proven that individuals with special needs can thrive and make an impact on society. Indeed, Special Needs Education brought out the best in Olvina, who, in turn, inspired many others to go beyond their limits to pursue their dreams. 🅴🅽🅳 𝘕𝘉.
