PRESS RELEASE: DepEd Caraga promotes Research Culture

Butuan City - 7/22/2022 DepEd Caraga, through the Policy, Planning and Research Division, conducted a face-to-face evaluation of the research proposal of eighty-eight ( 88 ) proponents from the entire region - one (1) from the Regional Office, eight ( 8 ) from the Agusan del Norte Division, forty-nine (49) from the Agusan del Sur Division, five (5) from Bayugan City Division, one (1) from Butuan City, one (1) from Bislig City, one (1) from Cabadbaran City, two (2) from Surigao del Sur, five (5) from Surigao del Norte, one (1) from Surigao City, six (6) from Siargao, and eight ( 8 ) from Tandag City. The activity supports DepEd's program to promote and strengthen the research culture in Basic Education. It aimed to evaluate the technicalities of the research proposals, provide technical assistance to researchers and develop the attitude of researchers. Among the proposals submitted was the "Validation of the Developed Monitoring and Inventory System (MIS) of DepEd Caraga for DepEd Computerization Program" by Mr. Nerison Pitogo, Computer Programmer from the Regional Office, together with two proponents from the Division Office, Mr. Jezan Villalon, and Mr. Joemer Madelo. According to Mr. Pitogo, they aim to focus on the system's usability in schools. Another proposal with the title, "Lending na Walang Ending: Exploring the Financial Well-Being of Debt Trapped Teachers," aimed to propose interventions toward financial literacy. The proponents for the study were Mylen Perez, Judelyn Abedong, and Renalyn Dali-on of the Tandag City Division. The proposals were examined and evaluated by the four (4) teams of panelists from the Regional Office, to wit: Team 1 Chairman: Dr. Alejandro Macadatar Members: Dr. Violeta Nuรฑez and Dr. Gladys Asis Team 2 Chairman: Dr. Edmund Mendoza Members: Dr. Adrilene Mae Castaรฑos and Ms. Marlyne Villareal Team 3 Chairman: Dr. Elan Elpidang Members: Dr. Elena Capangpangan and Mr. Jonathan Garzon Team 4 Chairman: Dr. Jesus Nono Members: Dr. Celsa Cataluรฑa and Mr. Kevin Hope Salvaรฑa The three-day evaluation started last July 20, 2022, at the Teacher Development Center, Butuan City, and will end today, July 22, 2022.
