Regional Director Maria Ines C. Asuncion opened the meeting with a brief report on recent milestones, including the strengthened partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) to enhance technical-vocational education in the region, which seeks to provide learners with better access to technical skills training and prepare them for future career opportunities through the enhanced National Certification Assessment processes.

She urged the participants to incorporate mental health education into their division and school plans, recognizing its importance in fostering holistic development for learners.
Encouraging each member to share their best practices, Asuncion remarked, "Let us value each other's presence and expertise. No one has the monopoly of knowledge."
