The inspection was led by the DepEd Caraga regional team composed of Dr. Jumer C. Carlon, Regional Sports Coordinator; Dr. Alejandro P. Macadatar, Chief of the Field Technical Assistance Division (FTAD); Elaine N. Navarro, Chief of the Finance Division (FD); Joel B. Rosales, Chief of the Administrative Services Division (ASD); Dr. Edmund D. Mendoza, Chief of the Education Support Services Division (ESSD); Dr. Violeta C. Nunez, Chief of the Policy, Planning, and Research Division (PPRD); and Pedro A. Tecson, Regional Information Officer.
They were accompanied by Surigao City Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Marilou B. Dedumo, CESO V, and Surigao del Norte Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Karen L. Galanida, CESO V, together with other division and school officials.
The team visited Caraga Regional Science High School, Surigao City National High School, Surigao West Central Elementary School, Surigao del Norte National High School, the Surigao del Norte Schools Division Office, and the Provincial Sports Complex. The inspection focused on the suitability of the facilities for billeting, competition venues, safety and security considerations, and the overall capacity of the sites to support the large-scale regional sports event.
The ocular inspection served as the first part of DepEd Caragaโs systematic planning efforts, with the second part, a coordination meeting with local government units and other line agencies, held the following day, January 14, 2026. Further assessments and coordination activities are expected in the coming months as host divisions and partner agencies align preparations toward the successful staging of the 2026 CARAGAmes.
