The meeting was presided over by Regional Director Maria Ines C. Asuncion, CESO III, who emphasized the importance of early preparations for key national and regional events, notably the Palarong Pambansa 2026, to be hosted by Agusan del Sur from May 24 to 30, 2026.

𝗘𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀

RD Asuncion reminded the body to fast-track procurement preparations, stressing that when offices are well-informed and synchronized, deadlines can be met more efficiently. She also issued instructions on the region’s preparations for the National Management Committee (MANCOM) Meeting scheduled for May 7–8, 2026, in Butuan City, directing focused planning on protocol management, budgetary requirements, and other logistical concerns. The MANCOM Secretariat was designated as the focal point for coordination.

𝗔𝗱𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱

To strengthen compliance with Civil Service Commission policies, RD Asuncion instructed the Administrative Services Division, headed by Chief Joel Rosales, to implement adjustments in the preparation of electronic Daily Time Records (DTR) and to strictly enforce the pass slip system.

She further directed division chiefs to closely monitor the progress of the ongoing construction of the new DepEd Caraga Regional Office building in Barangay Tiniwisan, underscoring the importance of consistent oversight and timely reporting.

Beyond operational matters, RD Asuncion highlighted the human dimension of public service, calling for respect, inclusivity, and professionalism across all levels of the organization.

"We are human beings, not slaves. Let everyone feel they belong. No one should feel superior to another. Our work is not just about processes and paperwork; it is about people," she emphasized.

During the updates, Quality Assurance Division Chief Marlyne Villareal outlined the proposed format and content of the 2026 Palarong Pambansa Guidebook, while Dr. Alejandro P. Macadatar, Field Technical Assistance Chief, updated the body on the status of the Palaro billeting quarters.

Administrative Services Division Chief Joel Rosales was assigned to coordinate with local government units for the National Planning Conference scheduled in the first week of February.

Curriculum and Learning Management Division Chief Bernabe Linog reported on preparations for the Regional Schools Press Conference and the Regional Festival of Talents, both scheduled on February 16-20, 2026, in Nasipit, Agusan del Norte. The event was expected to bring together more than 5000 participants across the region.

Finance Division Chief Elaine N. Navarro presented updates on the 2026 General Appropriations Act, including items for reclassification.

Human Resource Development Division Chief Flordelisa R. Dalin, represented by Roy S. Rele, outlined initiatives addressing the professional development needs of school heads, including the integration of modules on procurement management and moral empowerment for DepEd personnel.

Following RD Asuncion's directives, Violeta C. Nunez, Chief of the Planning and Research Division, committed to collaborating closely with HRDD in conducting research on school head development, with a particular focus on the 260 school heads identified as having developmental needs based on the National Assessment for School Heads (NASH).

𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿-𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗽𝘂𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱

Education Support Services Division Chief Edmund Mendoza introduced a proposed regional activity in partnership with TESDA for teachers. The project will be in celebration of Valentine’s Day, designed to enhance professional development and foster inter-agency collaboration.

The REXECOM meeting reaffirmed DepEd Caraga’s commitment to strategic foresight, accountable governance, and a people-centered organizational culture as the region advances its major programs and undertakings for 2026.
