The meeting was presided over by outgoing Regional Director Maria Ines C. Asuncion and co-presided over by Assistant Regional Director Pedro T. Escobarte Jr.
𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀
One of the key priorities discussed during the meeting was the continued strengthening of educational services for Indigenous Peoples (IP) communities. The committee agreed to intensify the implementation of programs that promote equitable access to quality education for IP learners across the region.
To support this initiative, school leaders and personnel will undergo enhanced capacity-building activities aimed at deepening their understanding of the culture, rights, and unique educational needs of Indigenous Peoples.
The body likewise committed to identifying strategic partners and strengthening collaboration with private institutions and other stakeholders to expand support for IP education programs.
𝗔𝗱𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮-𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀
Recognizing the persistent challenge of low literacy levels among learners, the committee resolved to conduct a comprehensive mapping of the factors contributing to low basic and functional literacy.
The initiative seeks to generate evidence-based interventions that will address identified learning gaps. School heads will also revisit action plans to improve literacy outcomes in their respective schools, while functional assessment tools will be enhanced to help measure literacy levels among both learners and teachers.
𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀
The management committee also agreed to conduct post-conference reviews of the National Schools Press Conference (NSPC), National Festival of Talents (NFOT), and Palarong Pambansa.
These post-event assessments aim to identify best practices, highlight accomplishments, and determine areas for improvement to enhance future participation and performance of Caraga delegates in national competitions.
𝗘𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗦𝘂𝗯𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗻𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮
To support effective planning and resource allocation, Schools Division Offices were reminded to ensure the timely submission of all required data for the Early Enrollment Quick Count on or before June 30, 2026.
The committee emphasized the importance of accurate and timely reporting in strengthening the department's decision-making processes and readiness for the school year.
𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀
As part of efforts to uphold educational standards and protect stakeholders, the committee agreed to establish a mechanism for verifying and identifying private schools that are duly recognized and authorized to operate by the Department of Education.
The initiative aims to strengthen monitoring systems and ensure that schools operating within the region comply with existing laws, regulations, and quality standards.
𝗥𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀
The body reiterated the need for strict adherence to DepEd Order No. 006, s. 2026, which stipulated security measures to be implemented within school premises, such as the procurement of security services, CCTV cameras, scanners, metal detectors, and the conduct of bag inspections.
The committee stressed that consistent implementation of security policies in department is essential in peaceful and orderly school operations.
𝗘𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁
Director Asuncion directed concerned offices to submit budgetary requirements to the Finance Unit on or before July 15, 2026, to facilitate the sourcing of funds for the hiring of additional security personnel.
Meanwhile, Schools Division Offices committed to achieving the 100 percent filling-up of newly created school-based non-teaching positions and ensuring the submission of deployment reports by the end of September 2026. The move is expected to strengthen administrative support systems and improve school operations.
𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗢𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
The committee also addressed operational concerns involving the redistribution of available tablets and equipment among Schools Division Offices as well as measures to maintain orderly and clutter-free workspaces.
These actions are intended to maximize the utilization of available resources and promote safe, efficient, and productive working environments.

The outcomes of the 4th Management Committee Meeting reflect DepEd Caraga's commitment to strengthening educational governance, improving literacy outcomes, advancing inclusive education, and enhancing operational efficiency.
As the region moves forward, the agreements reached during the meeting will serve as guiding directions in ensuring that learners across Caraga receive accessible, equitable, and quality basic education.
