The recognition program was initiated by outgoing Regional Director Maria Ines C. Asuncion, who underscored the importance of honoring the invaluable contributions of local government units (LGUs), partner agencies, stakeholders, and DepEd personnel whose unwavering commitment and collaboration helped make Caraga's hosting of the country's premier school sports competition a resounding success.
"Because of your support, our learners were able to compete. They were able to believe in themselves. They learned discipline, perseverance, teamwork, and excellence. They experienced firsthand that an entire region stood behind them. Today, as we honor your invaluable contributions, please know that this recognition is more than a plaque, a certificate, or a public acknowledgment. It is the heartfelt gratitude of thousands of learners, teachers, coaches, and education workers whose lives have been touched by your generosity and commitment," Director Asuncion said.
The morning session recognized the unwavering support of local government units, whose logistical, financial, and administrative assistance played a crucial role in ensuring the seamless conduct of the national sporting event. Also honored were the region's partner agencies and stakeholders from both the public and private sectors, whose contributions strengthened the implementation of various programs and services throughout the games.
The afternoon session paid tribute to the Schools Division Offices and the billeting schools, whose meticulous preparations and coordinated efforts ensured the readiness of athletes, coaches, billeting areas, and support services. The ceremony also recognized the members of the DepEd Caraga Technical Working Group, whose months of planning and execution were instrumental in delivering a well-organized and memorable Palarong Pambansa.
The ceremony served not only as an expression of gratitude but also as a celebration of the spirit of bayanihan that defined Caraga's hosting of the Palarong Pambansa 2026. Through the collective efforts of government agencies, private partners, volunteers, and the entire DepEd community, Caraga successfully showcased its capability to host one of the country's largest educational and sporting events.
As she concluded her term as Regional Director, Asuncion expressed confidence that the strong partnerships forged through Palarong Pambansa 2026 would continue to support DepEd Caraga's mission of providing quality, inclusive, and learner-centered education for every Caraganon.
