Spearheaded by Regional Director Maria Ines C. Asuncion, the initiative aimed to uplift the spirits of children during the holiday season through gift-giving and meaningful visits.
Facilitating the activity were the Education Support Services Division (ESSD) led by Dr. Edmund D. Mendoza, and the Field and Technical Division headed by Dr. Alejandro P. Macadatar, in coordination with the Human Resource Development Division (HRDD) under Dr. Flordelisa R. Dalin, the Quality Assurance Division (QAD) led by Marlyne Villareal, and the Policy, Planning, and Research Division (PPRD) under the leadership of Dr. Violeta C. Nuรฑez.
Providing technical support from the regional office were Dr. Adrilene Mae Castanos and Dr. Jumer C. Carlon from ESSD, and Junnah Tiu from HRDD. Their contributions brought the initiative to life, seamlessly delivering on DepEd Caragaโs promise to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
During the event, learners received various gifts, including hygiene kits, slippers, toys, ice cream, and food items. These items were generously donated by philanthropic partners Michele Lola, City Savings Bank, and Amontay Beach Resort.
Local officials and school leaders also played a pivotal role in the success of the initiative. Agusan del Norte Schools Division Superintendent (SDS) Jeanie L. Mativo extended her full support alongside Mayor Joselito T. Roble of Buenavista, Clayagon Elementary School Head Daisy C. Bajao, and District Supervisor Adelaida S. Pacon.
Mayor Kirk Asis of Bayugan City contributed cash gifts, a gesture strongly supported by Bayugan City SDS Ma. Teresa M. Real, Panaytay Elementary School Head Dennis R. Balala, and District Supervisor Elena G. Saga. The team also conducted a tree-planting activity on that same day.
The Tuloy ang Pasko initiative underscored the importance of collaboration and the shared goal of bringing smiles to the faces of children. It reaffirmed DepEd Caragaโs commitment to caring and serving learners and fostering hope, generosity, and community spirit during the holiday season.
Regional Director Asuncion remarked, โChristmas is a time to give and share love. Through Tuloy ang Pasko, we give gifts, but more importantly, we also give the message of encouragement and hope to our students, letting them know that they are appreciated and loved by their community.โ
Indeed, Tuloy ang Pasko brought the essence of Christmas to life as can be seen from the joyful faces of the children that will resonate far beyond the holiday season.
