Representing Caraga were YES-O Presidents Sarjette E. Loviano (Tumanan NHS, SDO Bislig City), JP J. Perez (Jacinto P. Elpa NHS, SDO Tandag City), Allen Joel N. Suson (Lucena NHS, SDO Agusan del Sur), Bryanth Chereese T. Borja (West Integrated School, SDO Butuan City), and Gaile M. Esteban (Hinatuan NCHS, SDO Surigao del Sur). They were joined by PDOs I Eliakem B. Revil and Linny Christi G. Mananquil, forming a delegation committed to climate advocacy.

Under the theme “Climate Justice: Bridging the Gaps in Transitioning to a Sustainable Future,” the camp inspired collaboration and encouraged participants to lead in advancing sustainable development. Through interactive workshops, project-based activities, and collaborative discussions, youth leaders engaged in championing environmental initiatives at local and national levels.

The camp began with a vibrant cultural performance by Ilagan’s Sulyap Sining Dance Troupe and CATS Club, followed by “Getting to Know You” activities that encouraged participants to connect and align their shared goals for the camp. Opening messages from ARD Florante E. Vergara and Dr. Benjamin D. Paragas of DepEd Region II, along with Ilagan City Mayor Hon. Jose Marie L. Diaz, emphasized the youth’s crucial role in addressing climate issues and challenges.

Workshops on project management, policymaking, and climate awareness empowered participants to engage in meaningful climate action. The interactive “Climate Conversations” session provided a platform for youth leaders to voice their perspectives on climate justice. The Trailblazers Quest encouraged solution-driven thinking guided by expert environmental mentors.

Although the camp was shortened from five days to three due to Typhoon Kristine PH, the participants’ enthusiasm remained strong, concluding the event with a renewed commitment to climate action in their communities.
