Engr. Abrazado warmly welcome d the DepEd Caraga delegation and expressed his full support for the Palarong Pambansa 2026. He assured that the Butuan City Airport management is fully committed to working closely with partner agencies to ensure efficient and convenient airport operations throughout the duration of the event.

The meeting centered on critical operational preparations to efficiently manage the influx and departure of delegates for the national sporting event. Key agenda items included arrival and departure arrangements, optimization of flight schedules, and transportation logistics to and from the airport. Discussions also covered the provision of additional facilities to accommodate the needs of arriving and departing delegates, as well as the implementation of strengthened security measures within airport premises.

Joining the meeting were representatives from the Provincial Government of Agusan del Sur (PGAS), led by Provincial Tourism Officer and Palaro Event Management Cluster Head Dannah Rufalyn M. Buquir, alongside Assistant Cluster Head Flordelisa R. Dalin of DepEd Caraga. Also present were representatives from the Butuan City Tourism Office and chiefs of DepEd Caraga’s functional divisions, including Dr. Edmund D. Mendoza (ESSD), Dr. Violeta C. Nunes (PPRD), Ms. Elaine N. Navarro (FD), and Ms. Marlyne M. Villareal (QAD).

The Schools Division Office of Butuan City was likewise represented by Schools Division Superintendent Minerva T. Albis, along with her division officials, underscoring the collaborative, whole of government approach to the preparations for Palarong Pambansa 2026. Following the discussion, the team conducted an ocular inspection of various areas within the airport vicinity.

Director Asuncion emphasized the importance of inter-agency coordination to ensure that all logistical and operational aspects are efficiently addressed ahead of the event. She noted that the readiness of transport hubs, particularly the airport, is crucial in delivering a positive experience for athletes, coaches, officials, and guests arriving from across the country.

The coordination meeting marks a significant milestone in the region’s preparations, reinforcing the commitment of DepEd Caraga and its partner agencies to deliver a well-organized, secure, and hospitable Palarong Pambansa 2026. END
