The national event, hosted by DepEd Region III at Pulilan Central School in Bulacan, was graced by His Excellency President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., alongside DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara, signaling the administration's strong commitment to child nutrition and education.
𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗮 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘄𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝘃𝗶𝗮 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗞𝗶𝗰𝗸-𝗼𝗳𝗳
Simultaneously, DepEd Region Caraga actively participated in the milestone launch through a localized event hosted by Placer West Central Elementary School in Surigao del Norte.
Leading the regional delegation was Assistant Regional Director Pedro T. Escobarte Jr., CESO IV, who represented Regional Director Allan G. Farnazo, CESO III. They were joined by Surigao del Norte Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Karen L. Galanida, CESO V, and Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Segundino A. Madjos Jr.
Regional and division officials also turned up in full support, including:

Representatives from the DepEd Central Office were Gian Erik Adao and Ronnie Amayo, alongside representatives from the National Dairy Authority (NDA), also traveled to support the Caraga launch.
𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗢𝗔 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴
Demonstrating the power of local government unit (LGU) and DepEd partnerships, Placer Municipal Mayor Juvymarie Villason expressed full backing for the program as she pledged 200 sacks of rice as well as dedicated manpower to assist in the operations of the school’s Central Kitchen.
The commitment was formalized during the event through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between Mayor Villason and Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Karen L. Galanida, ensuring the long-term maintenance and smooth operations of the facility.
𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀-𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝘁𝗼 𝗡𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗮 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀
Before the formal opening program commenced, top officials from the DepEd Central, Regional, and Division offices, together with Mayor Villason, personally rolled up their sleeves to assist in preparing the nutritious meals.
These freshly cooked meals were later served directly to the schoolchildren.
The School-Based Feeding Program is administered to select learners for a maximum of 220 days and a minimum of 120 days, providing children with hot meals prepared directly at specialized Central Kitchens. The program also features a milk feeding component, providing pasteurized milk for 25 days or sterilized milk for 21 days, with supplies facilitated through the National Dairy Authority.
𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗞𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘀
The Placer West Central Elementary School Central Kitchen currently caters to a total of 216 learners, specifically covering Kindergarten and Grade 1 pupils, as well as students classified as "Severely Wasted" from Grades 2 to 6.
The hub also services nearby schools within a strict 15-minute delivery radius to ensure meals arrive hot and fresh.
Caraga's nutritional infrastructure continues to grow. The region now boasts 25 operational Central Kitchens, which includes the 9 additional central kitchens successfully established in Bayugan City in 2025.
Through the collaborative efforts of national leaders, local officials, and dedicated educators, the SBFP for SY 2026-2027 sets a strong foundation for a healthier, more vibrant school year for Filipino learners.
