PROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur โ The Provincial Government of Agusan del Sur formally invited the Department of Education โ Caraga Region and its Schools Division Offices to participate in the Panawagtawag, the opening ritual of Palaro Tu AgSur 2026, marking the official start of this yearโs national sports activity. The ceremony was conducted today, May 2, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at the Capitol Amphitheater, Provincial Capitol, Prosperidad.
Panawagtawag is a symbolic Indigenous invocation ceremony highlighting unity, cultural heritage, and community participation. It reflects the rich traditions of Agusan del Surโs Indigenous Peoples, invoking blessings, guidance, and collective participation as the province celebrated sportsmanship, youth development, and cultural pride.
The ritual served as the ceremonial opening of the provinceโs flagship sporting event, gathering Indigenous People (IPs), educators, local officials, and partner institutions from across the region.
The active participation of DepEd Caraga and the Schools Division Offices greatly contributed to the success and overall significance of the activity, reinforcing strong collaboration between the education sector and the local government in promoting learner development, cultural appreciation, and inter-agency partnership.
