AGUSAN DEL SURโ€”In a show of support for young athletes and sports development in the region, the Vice Mayors League of the Philippines (VMLP) โ€“ Caraga Chapter formally turned over customized t-shirts to the Palaro Tu Agsur athletes and coaches during a ceremonial turnover last May 19, 2026, at Patin-ay Central Elementary School.
The turnover was led by Hon. Allan C. Bernal, Chairman of the VMLPโ€“Caraga Chapter and Vice Mayor of Barobo, Surigao del Sur, and by members of the organization, who reaffirmed their commitment to supporting regional sporting events and empowering student-athletes.
The activity was attended by the DepEd Caraga Regional Director, Maria Ines C. Asuncion, and Education Support Services Division (ESSD) Chief Edmund D. Mendoza, who expressed gratitude to the VMLPโ€“Caraga Chapter for its generosity and continued partnership with the Department of Education.
The customized t-shirts will serve as official support apparel for athletes and coaches participating in Palaro Tu Agsur, particularly the Caraga delegations, fostering unity, regional pride, and camaraderie among the delegates.
Through collaborative initiatives such as this, DepEd Caraga and its partners continue to strengthen community involvement in advancing youth development, sportsmanship, and holistic education in the region.
