During his presentation in the afternoon session (Feb 17), Madronero defined validation and discussed its purpose, benefits, and challenges, highlighting its vital role in evidence-based decision-making. He also delved into the concept of experimentation, explaining various research designs, sampling methodologies, and the components of analytical framework. Additionally, he covered essential elements such as assumptions, software tools, and resources used in data analysis.
Madronero further elaborated on the fundamentals of hypothesis testing and techniques for presenting and interpreting data through graphical representations. His discussion equipped participants with the knowledge necessary to evaluate the effectiveness of program implementation.
The seminar-workshop aims to strengthen the accuracy and reliability of data in assessing the MATATAG Curriculumโs implementation. It underscores the importance of evidence-based decision-making by enhancing participants' skills in validation techniques and data analysis. Through this initiative, participants will gain a deeper understanding of data collection, verification, and analysis processesโessential for identifying challenges and evaluating program outcomes.
Organized under the leadership of Regional Director Maria Ines C. Asuncion, the activity is spearheaded by the Quality Assurance Division (QAD), headed by Ms. Marlyne Villareal, with focal person Dr. Elan Elpidang and the QAD technical working group. The seminar-workshop brings together 116 participants from the 12 Schools Division Offices (SDOs), comprising RO QAD and FTAD personnel, Senior Education Program Specialists (SEPS) and Education Program Specialists (EPS) for SMME, and M&E MATATAG focal persons.
This initiative not only fosters collaboration among educators and administrators but also promotes consistency and integrity in monitoring and evaluation practices. Ultimately, the workshop contributes to the overarching goal of ensuring that the MATATAG Curriculum effectively meets learners' needs and achieves sustainable educational reforms through reliable, data-driven decisions.
