A key highlight of the morning was the presentation by Engr. Linda M. Buquir, Provincial Engineer of Agusan del Sur, walked participants through the proposed playing venues for Palarong Pambansa 2026. Her detailed and engaging walkthrough offered a compelling preview of the province's readiness to host the country's premier youth sports event.
This was followed by an insightful session with representatives from the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), who shared their evaluation and recommendations from the recently concluded 2025 Palarong Pambansa in Ilocos Norte. Their findings served as valuable references to guide the next host in enhancing operational strategies and athlete experiences.
One of the most engaging segments of the day was the presentation of game highlights and proposed technical guidelines. Tournament Directors presented updates for each event, sparking meaningful discussions among the delegates. A focal point of the dialogue was Regional Director Maria Ines C. Asuncion's recommendation of a unified, comprehensive guidelineโensuring fairness, consistency, and streamlined implementation across all sports.
All proposed technical guidelines, recommendations, and insights will be subject to scrutiny and review by the Palarong Pambansa Board. The final versions, to be released by September 2025, will embody the collective wisdom and thoughtful input of all stakeholders, ensuring a well-founded and trustworthy planning process.
In the afternoon, Undersecretaries Peter Irving Corvera and Malcolm Garma, joined by the technical directors and key officials, reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to the success of the event. Their thorough ocular inspection of the proposed 2026 playing venues demonstrated their dedication to ensuring that each facility meets the required standards and helps deliver an outstanding experience for both athletes and spectators.
Indeed, Day 2 of the Post-Palaro Conference showcased the power of collaboration, shared vision, and passion for youth sports development. With every step forward, the journey to Palarong Pambansa 2026 becomes more definedโand even more promising.
