BUTUAN CITY, October 20, 2025—𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 – 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗮 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝗜𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗖. The courtesy visit served as a preliminary engagement for the Inter-Region GMEF Validation and Focus Group Discussion (FGD) held on October 17, 2025, at the Butuan City School of Arts and Trades (BCSAT) and the Gold Hall of the DepEd Caraga Regional Office. The activity aimed to assess and strengthen the region’s gender mainstreaming initiatives in alignment with DepEd’s Gender and Development (GAD) programs.

The validation team was composed of Reynaldo D. Anto and Jasmine V. Birondo from DepEd Region VII (Central Visayas), and Joice Baliug and Jay Cepillo from the DepEd Central Office.

In her message, RD Asuncion highlighted the region’s commitment to promoting gender-responsive programs and recognized the transformative impact of initiatives such as the Compassion Program, which has touched the lives of teachers in need.

“Kami yung na-transform dahil sa mga ailing teachers na binisita namin. The Compassion Program in Caraga is one of the best practices in the region,” RD Asuncion shared, underscoring the essence of empathy and service at the core of the program.

The visit concluded with an exchange of insights on sustaining gender mainstreaming efforts and reinforcing collaboration between the Central Office, partner regions, and DepEd Caraga.
