𝗦𝗶𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗼 𝗜𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀, 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟮, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰—𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗘𝗱) 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗜𝗻-𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗶𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗼 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿, 𝗦𝗶𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗼 𝗜𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀.

Held from May 18–22, 2024, the meeting brought together DepEd undersecretaries, the assistant secretary, regional directors, and assistant regional directors to discuss critical educational initiatives throughout the country. DepEd Caraga Regional Director Maria Ines C. Asuncion, CESO IV hosted the event in collaboration with the Schools Division Office of Siargao Islands, led by Dr. Karen L. Galanida, CESO V.

Highlights:

1. Discussion on HROD PAPS (Human Resource and Organizational Development Performance Appraisal System): Participants engaged in a comprehensive dialogue about performance appraisal systems, emphasizing the importance of professional growth and development.

2. SHS National Task Force Terminal Report: The meeting featured a presentation on the Senior High School (SHS) National Task Force’s terminal report, with recommendations to enhance the SHS program’s effectiveness.

3. Hauling of School Furniture Items from Suppliers’ Warehouses: Logistics and procurement strategies must ensure the timely delivery of essential school furniture items.

4. Harmonization of Existing Laws, Rules, and Regulations on the No Collection Policy: Education leaders explored ways to align policies and practices related to financial contributions within schools.

5. Training of Private School Teachers and Philippine School Overseas Teachers on the MATATAG Curriculum: The meeting addressed professional development opportunities for teachers, focusing on the MATATAG Curriculum.

6. DepEd Recognition for Senior High School (SHS) Program in Non-DepEd Schools for SY 2025-2026 onwards: Plans for recognizing and accrediting SHS programs in non-DepEd schools to ensure quality education across all institutions.

7. Proposal to establish Caraga satellite NEAP XIII Development Center aimed at providing local educators an increased access to professional development programs and opportunities through training, workshops, and other resources.This can help improve the quality of teaching and learning in the region.
