Education Secretary Juan Edgardo โ€œSonnyโ€ Angara, together with DepEd officials and regional directors, reported on the Departmentโ€™s key priorities, budget utilization, and program performance. The presentation included updates on FY 2024 accomplishments, actions taken to address unmet targets, and comparative data on budget allocation and utilization from FY 2020 to 2024.
Secretary Angara also responded to issues and concerns raised by Members of Congress, focusing on matters relevant to the deliberation and approval of the FY 2026 proposed budget.
The Committee on Appropriations, chaired by Rep. Mikaela Angela B. Suansing, acknowledged the Departmentโ€™s presentation. Rep. Maricar Zamora of Davao likewise expressed her support by sponsoring DepEdโ€™s budget during the hearing.
The Committee will continue its review as part of the national budget deliberations. The FY 2026 budget proposal outlines DepEdโ€™s programs and initiatives designed to support learners, teachers, and schools nationwide.
