The activity gathered representatives from the DepEd Central Office, Regional Office, and Schools Division Office, along with GSIS officials, local government leaders, school personnel, and community stakeholders in a shared effort to promote accessible and technology-driven education for learners.

The program formally opened with the National Anthem, prayer, and acknowledgment of participants, followed by the welcome remarks of Public Schools District Supervisor Normalia S. Linsa. Regional Partnership Focal Person of DepEd Caraga, Adrilene Mae J. Castanos, delivered the statement of purpose, highlighting the importance of collaborative partnerships in improving learning opportunities, particularly in geographically challenged communities.

As part of the program, Davedinah Cometa-Fobin, Project Development Officer III of the Department of Education Central Office–External Partnerships Service, underscored the importance of partnerships and shared responsibility in advancing public education. She highlighted that the GSIS Adopt-A-School Program continues to strengthen collaboration among institutions and stakeholders in creating meaningful opportunities for Filipino learners. She likewise expressed appreciation for the initiative, commending GSIS and noting that their contributions are “worth it” for the benefit of the learners.

Meanwhile, Charis Jo M. Dela Cruz, GSIS-Surigao Branch Manager, reaffirmed GSIS’s commitment to supporting educational initiatives through sustainable and impactful assistance. She emphasized that the donated technology package reflects GSIS’s dedication to helping schools become more equipped and responsive to the demands of modern education.

A highlight of the activity was the ceremonial turnover and signing of the Deed of Donation for the technology package under the GSIS Adopt-A-School Program. The donated package is expected to enhance teaching and learning delivery through improved access to educational technology and digital resources.

Messages of support and gratitude were also delivered by Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Segundino A. Madjos, Jr., Barangay Captain Hon. Marcel E. Depaluros, and Head Teacher III Rea M. Villalas, who expressed appreciation for the continued support extended to Cabugao Elementary School and its learners.

The activity concluded with closing remarks from Hon. Flonie T. Rivas, Education Committee Chairman, followed by a photo opportunity among guests and participants.

Through strengthened partnerships and shared responsibility, DepEd Caraga continues to champion programs that foster inclusive, innovative, and learner-centered education across the region.
