Facilitated by the Policy, Planning, and Research Division headed by Chief Dr. Violeta C. Nunez, the two activities aimed at streamlining and integrating project management and financial planning processes of different functional divisions and units within the regional office.
The first event, the 𝗢𝗻𝗲-𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 (𝗣𝗠𝗜𝗦) 𝗘𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽, was conducted on April 11, 2024. This workshop equipped selected personnel with the necessary skills to proficiently manage the PMIS system, tailored to their unique programs and accounts. The objective was to enhance the efficiency and coherence of project management processes across the board.
Participants included personnel from the supply, procurement, budget, and accounting units, and representatives from the Quality Assurance Divisions (QAD), the Office of the Regional Director (ORD), and the Policy, Planning, and Research Division (PPRD). This initiative is crucial for ensuring proper and effective use of the technology-driven PMIS.
The second activity was conducted the following day, April 12, 2024, at the same venue. The 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻 (𝗪𝗙𝗣) 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗨𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗶𝘅 (𝗘𝗠) focused on preparing the Work and Financial Plan for FY 2025 and integrating these plans with the PMIS for better tracking and accountability. The participants included PPRD personnel, Functional Division Chiefs, Program Owners, Unit Heads, and other top regional officials.
Mr. John Rey Ebasco, a former PPRD personnel and PMIS expert, facilitated the hands-on activities and guided the participants in navigating the technical aspects of PMIS operations and financial planning.
These workshops represented the Department of Education's proactive approach to enhancing the skills of its personnel in project and financial management, aligning with modernization and efficiency goals within the educational sector.
