Dr. Alejandro P. Macadatar, Chief of the Field Technical Assistance Division (FTAD), led the discussions on the revised School-Based Management (SBM) System, as outlined in DepEd Order 007, s. 2024. He emphasized how this revision empowers stakeholders and school leaders to exercise optimal leadership decision-making while strengthening the provision of Technical Assistance (TA) to schools and division offices across the region.
Marlyne Villareal, Chief of the Quality Assurance Division (QAD), presented several key initiatives, including the data mapping of higher education institutions (HEIs) offering teacher education programs in the region. She also highlighted the upcoming Regional Education Summit set for February 11-12, 2025, which will gather stakeholders to further elevate the region's education system. Additionally, Villareal shared the ongoing monitoring and evaluation (M&E) efforts regarding the government assistance subsidies (GAS) for participating private schools.
Mrs. Sahly Tina Dacut, Accountant III of the Regional Office, provided updates on the status of funds for Fiscal Years 2024 and 2025, outlining the adjusted allotment, obligations, and disbursements for each division. These financial updates are crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of various DepEd programs and projects across the region.
Dr. Edmund D. Mendoza, Chief of Education Support Services Division (ESSD), discussed the implementation of the Learner Support Activities under the OK sa DepEd-DRRM Partnership Initiatives, highlighting the turnover of books in science, English, and Math, and fire extinguishers from BDO Network Bank, SM Foundation Inc., and Pheonix Publishing, as well as food items, school supplies, and electronic equipment from various donors and partners.
Lastly, Dr. Flordelisa R. Dalin, Chief of the Human Resource Development Division (HRDD), informed the meeting about the E-Learning Courses Scholarship Program, which has already benefitted 100,000 educators nationwide. She also discussed exploring possibilities for offering similar programs to benefit Caraga educators, ensuring that regional teachers have access to continuous professional development opportunities.
The 1st Regional Mancom Meeting serves as a vital platform for collaboration, planning, and sharing critical information to set the stage for policy implementation for the Calendar Year 2025.
