RD Asuncion underscored the urgency of promptly filling all teaching and non-teaching positions to sustain seamless education delivery. She stressed that a timely and streamlined hiring process is crucial to addressing staffing gaps and maintaining optimal school operations.
The Regional Director also emphasized the importance of proactive disaster preparedness. She encouraged the prepositioning of resources to mitigate the impact of calamities and other emergencies, asserting that disaster response should be proactive and not reactive. She emphasized the necessity of early procurement of essential items under the Disaster Preparedness Plan, such as life-saving equipment, whistles, flashlights, alarm systems, and other emergency tools.
RD Asuncion maintained that the utilization of disaster funds must have a tangible impact on learning outcomes. In line with this, she urged the body to streamline procurement processes and enhance the capabilities of the Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) members and process owners to ensure smoother, more efficient, and transparent transactions.
Furthermore, she clarified that all requests for additional Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE) must undergo the standard processes of Completed Staff Work (CSW) to ensure proper evaluation and approval.
The Management Committee Meeting served as a platform for discussing key operational concerns and fostering a more responsive and proactive approach to education governance in DepEd Caraga. The call for efficiency in hiring, disaster preparedness, and procurement reaffirms the commitment of the regional office to improving education service delivery across the region.
