BACUAG, SURIGAO DEL NORTE, October 9, 2025โDepEd Caraga Regional Director Maria Ines C. Asuncion paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Tessie Jean C. Nakao, Municipal Mayor of Bacuag, on October 8, 2025, as part of her mission to extend the National Teachersโ Day Celebration to teachers who, due to illness, were unable to attend the official opening and closing programs.
During their meeting, RD Asuncion and Mayor Nakao discussed various concerns affecting learners and teachers in the locality, exploring possible collaborations and partnership efforts between DepEd and the LGU to further improve educational services and community-based support for teachers.
RD Asuncion also shared that she has initiated the institutionalization of the Compassion in Action mission across all Schools Divisions in DepEd Caraga, an advocacy aimed at reaching out to teachers most in need of care and assistance.
In response, Mayor Nakao expressed her appreciation to RD Asuncion. Other DepEd leaders present were Schools Division Superintendents Dr. Marilou B. Dedumo, CESO V (Surigao City) and Dr. Karen L. Galanida, CESO V (Surigao del Norte), along with other regional and division officials.
