𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝗶𝘁𝗹𝗲 (𝗖𝗔𝗗𝗧) 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗮 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻. This initiative is part of Project Caraga, a flagship nature-based solution led by CCDI that seeks to mitigate the impacts of climate change through sustainable, community-driven forest and biodiversity conservation efforts. Currently operating across ten CADTs in Agusan del Norte, Surigao del Norte, and Surigao del Sur, the project upholds globally recognized standards such as the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) and the Climate, Community & Biodiversity (CCB) Standard.

During the meeting, Manjobel Ladao of CCDI expressed a strong interest in collaborating with DepEd Caraga to empower IP communities through sustainable livelihood and enterprise development, access to education and culturally appropriate learning, and delivery of basic social services and infrastructure support.

The collaboration envisions a shared commitment to advance the well-being, cultural integrity, and socio-economic resilience of IP communities, while reinforcing the synergy between ancestral domain development and education sector initiatives.

Both parties expressed hope in establishing a partnership aimed at utilizing education as a transformative tool to support Indigenous Peoples and protect their ancestral domain, which is essential for both ecological and cultural preservation, ultimately fostering optimism within the IP communities.
