BUTUAN CITY, January 21, 2026–𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐄𝐝) 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐚 𝐢𝐬 𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬, 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐬 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 (𝐒𝐇𝐅𝐋𝐏).

Organized by the Human Resource Development Division (HRDD) under DepEd Order No. 011, s. 2019, and aligned with the National Educators Academy of the Philippines (NEAP) transformation initiative, the program is designed to strengthen the core leadership competencies of school heads and ensure the delivery of quality education in all schools.

The first batch, conducted on January 12–14, 2026, guided participants through the five domains of the Philippine Professional Standards for School Heads (PPSSH). The program enhanced strategic school leadership by developing participants’ skills in school planning, decision-making, and monitoring teaching and learning outcomes. It also improved their management and operational efficiency, equipping them to handle school resources, staff, and facilities more effectively.

Participants were further trained to foster collaboration with stakeholders, including teachers, parents, and community partners, to create a supportive and engaging learning environment. The program also emphasized building a culture of continuous professional growth, encouraging reflective practice, and innovative approaches to school leadership.

Batches 2 and 3 are scheduled on January 26–28 and February 1–3, 2026, respectively, reinforcing the commitment to ensure that all newly appointed school heads in the region are fully prepared to meet the demands of modern educational leadership.

Through SHFLP, DepEd Caraga is investing in strong, competent school leadership, ensuring that school heads are equipped to inspire teachers, empower learners, and lead their schools toward academic excellence.
