The team was warmly received by Center Manager Melody Pardillo, who led a presentation on the center's programs, services, and best practices in supporting learners with special needs.
Ms. Pardillo shared that DCSNICC was inaugurated on March 21, 2025. As the first city-operated center of its kind in Mindanao, DCSNICC functions under the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) and provides early intervention services to indigent children aged 0 to 6 years and 364 days with developmental delays or disabilities.
The center serves families residing in Davao City. It supports children with conditions such as intellectual disability, global developmental delay, autism spectrum disorder, speech or language impairment, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), specific learning disorder, physical disability, visual impairment, hearing impairment or loss, sensory delays, and cognitive delays.
A multidisciplinary team of professionalsโcomposed of developmental pediatricians, therapists, and special education specialistsโdelivers individualized services tailored to each child's unique developmental needs.
After the presentation, the DepEd Caraga personnel toured the center's classrooms and facilities to observe how various departments collaborate in providing holistic support to young learners with special needs.
