BUTUAN CITY, September 2, 2025 โ DepEd Caraga took a significant step forward in strengthening its research initiatives with a benchmarking visit to Caraga State University (CSU) in Ampayon, Butuan City, on August 29, 2025, as part of its three-day Training on Data Analysis that commenced on August 26 at the Teacher Development Center, Butuan City.
Led by Chief Education Supervisor Dr. Violeta C. Nunez and Regional Research Focal Person Dr. Caroline Guerta-Dultra, the participants from Caragaโs 12 divisions engaged with CSUโs Office of the Vice President for Research and Development, Innovation, and Extension (OVPRDIE).
CSU showcased its seven specialized research centers, offering free capacity-building opportunities and access to laboratories and workshops in Science Investigatory Projects, Robotics, and other fields. The centers include GEO-Informatics, Renewable Energy and Automation, Environmental Management, Mathematical and Statistical Computing, Mineral Resources, Packaging Innovation, and AGAK.
The visit reinforced DepEd Caraga's commitment to embedding research as a core component of education, beyond classroom teaching, to drive meaningful innovation and development in the regionโs schools and communities.
This partnership marks a collaborative effort to foster a research-driven future for Caragaโs education system, advancing both curriculum and learner outcomes through science and innovation.
