The activity gathered education leaders, government agencies, private partners, and school heads to strengthen collaboration and ensure a safe, secure, and disaster-ready implementation of Brigada Eskwela across the division.
Leading the coordination meeting were Schools Division Superintendent Imelda Sabornido and Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Love Emma B. Sudario, together with Schools Governance and Operations Division (SGOD) Chief Ruby Limen and Curriculum Implementation Division (CID) Chief Joel Pelenio.
The activity was further graced by personnel from the DepEd Regional Office, namely Edmund D. Mendoza, ESSD Chief; Adrilene Mae J. Castaรฑos, Regional Partnership Focal Person; Mariel Sosmeรฑa, Regional Engineer; and Jairha Anne T. Sususco, Technical Assistant, whose presence reinforced the regional officeโs commitment to strengthening collaboration and disaster preparedness initiatives across schools and communities.
Representatives from the DepEd Central Office also participated in the activity, including Davedinah Cometa, Jho-ana A. Llana, Maguidala-Usman M. Bedar II, and Manuelito Santos, highlighting the importance of a unified and multi-level approach in ensuring school safety and security during Brigada Eskwela implementation.
Also present during the meeting were officials from the City Government of Cabadbaran, representatives from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), private partners, division personnel, and school heads from various schools in the division.
Discussions during the meeting centered on the finalization of Division Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) preparedness plans, emergency response protocols, and safety drills to ensure schools are equipped to respond effectively to potential emergencies and disasters.
An open forum was also conducted where participants raised questions, clarifications, and concerns regarding safety measures, coordination protocols, emergency response procedures, and the implementation of Brigada Eskwela activities. These concerns were addressed by the concerned offices and partner agencies, fostering clearer communication, strengthened coordination, and a shared understanding among stakeholders.
The activity emphasized the crucial role of inter-agency collaboration and stakeholder engagement in promoting resilient, safe, and learner-centered school environments. Through strengthened partnerships and coordinated efforts, DepEd Cabadbaran City Division continues to uphold its commitment to protecting the welfare of learners, teachers, and the entire school community in preparation for Brigada Eskwela 2026.
