The said activities reaffirm DepEd Caraga's commitment to cultivating disaster-ready learners through strengthened partnerships, sustained capacity-building initiatives, and meaningful youth engagement to advance its mission to ensure that every learner is prepared to face challenges and contribute to a safer, more resilient future.

The event gathered Division Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Coordinators, Public Schools District Supervisors, school heads, student leaders, representatives from national government agencies, and partner organizations, reaffirming their shared commitment to strengthening disaster preparedness and building safer, more resilient learning communities.

In her welcome message, Minerva T. Albis, PhD, underscored the importance of disaster resilience programs in schools, emphasizing that educational institutions are among the most vulnerable during emergencies and play a crucial role in protecting learners, educators, and surrounding communities. She noted that strengthening disaster preparedness and response mechanisms helps ensure the continuity of education while fostering a culture of safety and resilience among learners.

Regional Director Allan G. Farnazo highlighted the significant role of learners, teachers, and youth organizations in advancing disaster risk reduction and management. He recognized the valuable contributions of organizations such as the Red Cross Youth (RCY), the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP), and student leaders in promoting disaster awareness and emergency preparedness within schools.

Director Farnazo also challenged stakeholders to further strengthen the Batang Alimat Program, emphasizing that disaster resilience should extend beyond awareness and become a shared responsibility and way of life. He encouraged schools and communities to empower learners to become proactive leaders who can effectively respond to disasters and help build safer, more resilient communities.
