BAYUGAN CITYโAthletes, coaches, and Technical Working Groups (TWGs) of the Caraga Delegation actively participated in an Earthquake Drill conducted on May 21, 2026, at Bayugan National Comprehensive High School as part of the region's disaster preparedness and safety initiatives for the upcoming Palaro Tu Agsur 2026.
The activity was spearheaded by Emilio Makiling, Project Development Officer III of SDO Butuan City, who emphasized the importance of preparedness, presence of mind, and a coordinated response during emergencies and disasters.
Participants performed the standard "Duck, Cover, and Hold" procedure followed by an orderly evacuation to designated safe areas. The drill aimed to strengthen delegates' awareness and readiness while ensuring that safety protocols are understood and properly observed throughout the games.
The activity was attended by PDRRMO and LGU representatives. It highlighted the Caraga Delegation's commitment to promoting a culture of safety, resilience, and disaster risk reduction among student-athletes and personnel.
Through initiatives such as the earthquake drill, the delegation continues to prioritize the welfare and protection of all participants, reinforcing the importance of preparedness in safeguarding lives during unforeseen events.
