Ms. Irene Barzaga, Supervising Education Program Specialist, and Ms. Iza Rubiales, Senior Education Program Specialist, both from the BAE, along with Mrs. Josephine Chonie Obsenares, Regional ALS Focal, arrived in Butuan City Division to lead the crucial discussion. The FGD took place at Obrero Central Elementary School and was actively participated in by ALS teachers, the 75 conditional passers themselves, and was also graced by the presence of the Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, Ms. Leonevee V. Silvosa.
The 10-day Learning Enhancement program is a vital component in transforming the status of conditional passers into eligible passers, making them official candidates for ALS graduation. The FGD served as a platform to gather valuable recommendations and suggestions for policy enhancement directly from the field, ensuring that the BAE's strategies are responsive to the actual needs and experiences of those on the ground.
The BAE officials also took the opportunity to visit the Butuan City East Central Elementary School (BCES) and Ong Yiu Elementary School, ALS Centers. This visit allowed them to observe the learning environment firsthand and gain deeper insights into the operational aspects of ALS implementation in the division, complementing the feedback gathered during the FGD.
The dialogue centered on the practical administration of the enhancement program, with insights from teachers and learners crucial for refining the module's assessment tools and delivery methods. The direct engagement with the conditional passers underscored the Department of Education's commitment to their holistic development and successful transition. The gathered recommendations will be instrumental in further refining national policies at the BAE to ensure the long-term effectiveness of such learning enhancement programs.
