Held simultaneously across schools in the division, the opening served not only as the formal start of the academic year but also as a celebration of shared responsibility and community partnership in education.
The early morning ceremonies were filled with symbolic unity as barangay captains, councilors, principals, teachers, and parents stood together while learners returned to campus with hopeful hearts. The raising of the Philippine flag, the singing of the national anthem, and a short interfaith prayer set the tone for a peaceful and productive year ahead.
SPTA officers emphasized the importance of strong home-school partnerships and pledged their continued support in helping learners transition smoothly, especially those adjusting to a new school environment.
In her inspiring message delivered across all schools, SDS Dr. Minerva T. Albis welcomed the learners and called on them to embrace their vital role in nation-building.
"Welcome back to school, dear learners of Butuan City Division. This school year offers you a new chance to pursue your dreams, improve yourselves, and move closer to becoming responsible and productive members of society. Keep in mind that education is more than just absorbing lessonsโitโs about equipping yourselves to make a positive impact on our community," she expressed.
Dr. Albis further encouraged learners to practice discipline, respect, and resilience, assuring them of the unwavering commitment of teachers and school leaders to providing a safe, nurturing, and empowering learning environment.
The ceremony was followed by classroom orientations, the distribution of learning materials, and messages from class advisers highlighting school rules, learner responsibilities, and upcoming programs. Barangay officials reaffirmed their support by committing to school safety initiatives, community outreach, Brigada Eskwela, and other programs that strengthen school-community ties.
With energy and optimism, the Butuan City Division moves forward into the new school year with renewed hope, strengthened partnerships, and a firm focus on learner success.
