NEWS RELEASE || DepEd Caraga Strengthens Professional Development Interventions for School Heads

Butuan City, Philippines, January 22, 2026 — The Department of Education (DepEd) Caraga Region, through the Human Resource Development Division (HRDD) under the leadership of Dr. Flordelisa R. Dalin, conducted the Finalization and Validation of Professional Development Interventions (PDI) for School Heads

The activity aims to strengthen the professional growth of school heads by ensuring that development interventions are data-driven, responsive, and aligned with the Philippine Professional Standards for School Heads (PPSSH). Specifically, the Professional Development Interventions are designed to support National Assessment of School Heads (NASH) takers who did not meet the required proficiency levels across the five PPSSH domains, providing them with targeted and needs-based professional learning support.

Participants of the activity include Certified NEAP faculty members specially trained to develop the Training Resource Package (TRP), Schools Division Superintendents and Assistant Schools Division Superintendents serving as designated validators, and members of the Project Management Team (PMT), whose combined expertise ensures the quality, relevance, and long-term sustainability of the professional development interventions.

The TRP, which includes Session Guides, Slide Decks, Instructional Designs, and Workbooks, will be developed to guide both Face-to-Face and Asynchronous Professional Development activities, ensuring that school heads have structured and practical tools for effective learning and application.

The development phase was conducted on January 7–9, 2026, while the validation and finalization phase is scheduled on January 19–23, 2026.

This initiative reflects DepEd Caraga’s sustained efforts to empower school leaders through strategic and inclusive professional development, ultimately supporting improved teaching, learning, and school performance across the region.
