BUNAWAN, Agusan del Sur, December 10, 2025— 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗘𝗱) 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗮 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘄𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗚𝗶𝗳𝘁-𝗚𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗮𝘆, 𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗙𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥. Themed "Balik Sigla, Bigay Saya" the event was live-streamed simultaneously in all DepEd Schools Division Offices nationwide, which highlighted the distribution of gift items, including Go Bags and other essential school materials to school children.

In Caraga Region, Regional Director Maria Ines C. Asuncion, CESO IV, together with Agusan del Sur Schools Division Superintendent Josita B. Carmen, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Marilou Laurencio, regional officials, and school personnel, attended the local gathering at the Zotico C. Monday Sports Center, Bunawan Agusan del Sur. The program was hosted by East Bunawan Elementary School, headed by its principal, Dr. Larry Marcos, who gathered around 200 children and their parents for the fun-filled gift-giving activity.

During her message, RD Asuncion emphasized the deeper meaning of the season. “Christmas is a time for giving,” she said. “I encourage everyone to give back, because the more you give, the more you receive.” She commended the Office of the President for spearheading an event that not only distributes material gifts but also nurtures the spirit of generosity among communities.

The Nationwide Gift-Giving Day forms part of the administration’s continuing efforts to support Filipino learners and strengthen community engagement. The simultaneous livestream ensured that all regions could join the celebration in unity, reflecting the country’s collective commitment to uplift every child.
