Asuncion, emphasized the significance of the conference as a convergence of expertise, experience, and shared commitment to shaping a better future for Filipino learners.

Director Asuncion expressed honor in welcoming the delegates to Butuan City, noting that the gathering is intended to provide a safe and open space for dialogue, where ideas are freely exchanged, perspectives are respected, and collaboration across sectors is strengthened. She described the conference as “an opportunity not only to refine strategies and plans, but also to build lasting partnerships anchored on a common mission for quality, inclusive, and responsive education.”

The Regional Director also underscored that the success of education planning lies not only in technical discussions, but also in genuine collaboration and mutual understanding among stakeholders anchored on the current realities of the educational landscape.

As the National Planning Conference 2026 continues, participants are expected to engage in focused discussions, share best practices, and generate actionable insights that will guide education policies and programs in the coming years. Director Asuncion expressed hope that delegates will leave the conference with strengthened connections, renewed inspiration, and a deeper commitment to collective action for the benefit of learners nationwide.

The activity was spearheaded by regional Policy, Planning, and Research Division (PPRD) led by Dr. Violeta C. Nunez, in close coordination with the Divisions of Agusan del Norte and Butuan City, under the direction of Schools Division Superintendents Dr. Jeanie Mativo and Dr. Minerva T. Albis, respectively.
