𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐈𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐂. 𝐀𝐬𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐂𝐄𝐒𝐎 𝐈𝐕, 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐞 (𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐦) 𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟖, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒, 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲.

This crucial meeting brought together the third-level officials from across 12 school divisions in Caraga, with the Schools Division Superintendents (SDS) and Regional Functional Division Chiefs attending in-person, while the Assistant Schools Division Superintendents, the chiefs of CID and SGOD, joined the meeting online via MS Teams. Assistant Regional Director Dr. Pedro T. Escobarte, CESO IV, assisted in the proceedings.

During the discussions, RD Asuncion recalled stories of athletes who attained successes through the support of stakeholders and partners. “𝐿𝑒𝑡 𝑢𝑠 𝑖𝑛𝑣𝑒𝑠𝑡 𝑖𝑛 𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑐ℎ𝑖𝑙𝑑𝑟𝑒𝑛 𝑤ℎ𝑜 𝑑𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑚𝑒𝑑 𝑜𝑓 𝑐ℎ𝑎𝑛𝑔𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑖𝑟 𝑙𝑖𝑣𝑒𝑠. 𝐿𝑒𝑡 𝑢𝑠 ℎ𝑒𝑙𝑝 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑚 𝑎𝑐ℎ𝑖𝑒𝑣𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑖𝑟 𝑑𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑚𝑠," said Director Asuncion. She emphasized that this mindset should guide the discussions on their participation in the forthcoming national events.

𝗣𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗮 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰

In preparation for the Palarong Pambansa 2024, Dr. Jumer C. Carlon, OIC Chief of ESSD, presented the details of all logistics, athlete training, and event management protocols. The body agreed that the training venues for the different sports disciplines will be in Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Bayugan City, Butuan City, and Surigao City.

𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗡𝗦𝗣𝗖 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗡𝗙𝗢𝗧 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽

Curriculum and Learning Management Chief Bernabe L. Linog presented detailed plans for the National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) and the National Festival of Talents (NFOT) in Carcar, Cebu. Preparations for the NSPC will be held in Bayugan City, and Butuan City for the NFOT. He also shared progress updates on the National Learning Camp, emphasizing the initiatives to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.

𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀

Joel B. Rosales, Chief of the Administrative Services Division (ASD), discussed the operational efficiencies and staff development programs, including the reclassification processes for school heads based on Department Order 97, s. 2011.

Elaine N. Navarro, OIC-Chief of the Finance Division (FD), presented the Status of Service Fee Collections and Remittances as of May 17, 2024, the Education Programs Management Office (EPMO) Monitoring of Obligation by Region, and the Sub-AROs issued by the regional office.

Dr. Alejandro P. Macadatar, OIC-Chief of the Field Technical Assistance Division (FTAD), discussed the Continuous Improvement Program per Regional Memorandum 0456, s. 2024 (which calls for entries for the best CI projects in the division offices and schools.)

Dr. Edmund D. Mendoza, Education Program Supervisor of the Quality Assurance Division (QAD), informed the body about the schools in Surigao del Sur, Tandag City, and Agusan del Norte recommended for approval to operate. He also presented a list of private schools with permits to operate.

Dr. Flordelisa R. Dalin, Chief of the Human Resource Development Division (HRDD), explained the 2024 CPD-accredited professional development programs for educators, particularly the Regional and Division Training of School Trainers on the MATATAG Curriculum, scheduled from April to June 2024.

𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀

Director Asuncion provided comprehensive updates on several critical areas, such as National Achievement Test (NAT) Results, the Philippine Educational Placement Test (PEPT) results, the In-Person Regional Operations Meeting, the High School Terminal Report, and the advisory on DO No. 14, s. 2023, clarifying the policy guidelines for the National Learning Camp, harmonizing existing laws, rules, and regulations on the No Collection Policy, and ways of supporting educational initiatives without imposing undue financial burdens on students and parents.

In her closing message, Director Asuncion stressed that the children are the future. “We must support their dreams and provide them with every opportunity to excel, not just academically but also in extracurricular activities like sports, journalism, the arts, and the sciences, which play a crucial role in their overall development."

The meeting underscored the collective commitment of DepEd Caraga education leaders to foster a robust and inclusive learning environment, ensuring the continuous improvement of educational standards and student achievements.
