PPRD Chief Marilyn F. Antiquina gave some brief historical notes on the said event, touching on the role of President Manuel Quezon in rescuing more than a thousand Jews by transporting them to the Philippines in the late 1930s.

In her message, RD Asuncion described the Holocaust’s fatal principle of racial discrimination and how it can taint the workplace. She said it can be seen “the moment you defame someone” via character assassination. “If you don’t like your workmate’s performance, like him/her as a person.” She stressed that people deserve respect because God created them that way, and we are not their creators.

RD Asuncion maintained that working together is not an accident because it has a purpose. “We are here to work together for the common good, that is, the quality education of our children. That's our main goal. That’s our North Star.”

For RD Asuncion, destroying the reputation of others is also a form of holocaust that we should avoid. “If we are connected with God, then we cannot afford to do these things,” she said.

“To know a person is a gift; it is an expansion of yourself. Not everybody has the opportunity to know more people. Expand your friendships instead of expanding your enemies. Do not be a Hitler. Be the builder,” articulated RD Asuncion.

She also encouraged everyone to prepare for change. “No one stays except God. Why be a Hitler when we will not be here forever? Build each other,” she concluded.

After the announcements of updates from the different offices, the employees lighted their candles in honor of those who perished during the Holocaust. END
