On the second part of the ceremony held indoors at the R-NEAP Silver Hall, RD Asuncion formally announced the new role of SDS Nelia S. Lomocso as the supervising official for the Matatag Pilot Implementing schools and the Project Management Team and, as an expert in human resources management, the technical consultant to the Administrative Services Division. "We are not here for the position; we are here to serve," RD Asuncion said as she underscored the importance of building the future through learners and capacitating employees for better service. "Study hard, learn better, so you can serve at your best," she added.
The Regional Director expressed gratitude for the compassionate efforts made during the outreach activity conducted on February 9, 2024, dubbed โHold Hands, Spread Love: Caragaโs ComPassionate Initiative for Flood Victims.โ It involved distributing food packs, school supplies, clothing, and other essential items to affected families. RD Asuncion praised the dedication of volunteer regional and division officials, noting, "We will not count the amount, but we are counting your energy, the sacrifice, and the time you've spent."
As part of the ongoing Compassion project, RD Asuncion also announced similar activities scheduled for Agusan del Sur and Butuan City on February 14, 2024, aligning with the upcoming Lenten season of sacrifices. For RD Asuncion, compassion is the key to helping humanity because "it is not enough to be an academician; it is not enough to be intelligent." In this light, she enjoined all employees to imbibe an integral mindset. "Our heart is connected to our mind. Whatever we think is connected to our heart. Whatever we feel is connected to our brain. We have to be compassionate,โ she articulated.
Acknowledging the successful Stage 1 Audit last February 5, 2024, RD Asuncion commended the process owners and the regional ICT Unit for creating the ISO portal as an innovation. In preparation for the Stage 2 Audit on February 22, 2024, she encouraged each office to simulate their internal processes. She also recommended creating a new folder at the portal as a repository for success stories and best practices, highlighting achievements like the reintegration of SBSI learners, the effective utilization of online platforms for communication, the changes in infrastructure and office arrangements that enforced smooth communicative atmosphere, and the enhancement of the search engine for the electronic copies of ISO documents.
More importantly, RD Asuncion urged the Curriculum and Learning Management Division (CLMD) to develop and enhance effective strategies per learning area to improve the National Achievement Test Performance of Caraga learners for 2024. She stressed the importance of a concerted, synergized effort from all SDOs and RO Functional Divisions to achieve the set goals. "Be the reason for the success of the organization. We can do this together," she concluded.
