BAROBO, SURIGAO DEL SUR, April 15, 2025—𝗢𝘂𝘁𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗽𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟭𝟬, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗼 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝘆𝗺.

Mr. Junar P. Lasaca, President of the Regional Elementary School Paper Advisers Association (RESPAA), opened the event by highlighting the significance of this year’s theme: “The Future of Learning: Strengthening Foundation and Lifelong Skills in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.” He emphasized that the theme captures the dynamic evolution of education and journalism in today’s technology-driven era. “It illuminates the critical role and adaptability of journalism in a world rapidly shaped by technology,” Lasaca remarked, stressing the need to equip young journalists with skills that go beyond conventional learning.

This year, student journalists again surpassed expectations in journalistic excellence on the national stage. They carried not just pens and papers but also the pride of their schools, the voices of their communities, and the hopes of an entire region—something they powerfully demonstrated at the 2024 National Schools Press Conference (NSPC), where they emerged victorious and earned well-deserved recognition and distinction.

The awards honored winners across individual and group categories and outstanding school division offices. The ceremony also paid tribute to school paper advisers who have devoted years—some even decades—to mentoring young journalists and fostering the growth of campus journalism. In addition, the Outstanding Campus Journalist and Outstanding School Paper Adviser from both the elementary and secondary levels were given special recognition.

The event served as a celebration of excellence in campus journalism and a call to embrace innovation and lifelong learning in the digital age.
