The workshop at Nickel Hall, Teacher Development Center, was designed to equip Administrative Officers (AO II) with a deeper understanding of their roles and responsibilities. It focused on strengthening their competencies in human resource management, procurement processes, and financial reporting, encouraging the application of updated DepEd policies, systems, and procedures, and promoting a collaborative approach to problem-solving and daily administrative tasks.
Conducted in four batches, the workshop ensures broad participation and maximizes its impact, involving the majority of AO IIs across the region.
Meriam C. Dela Rita, Supervising Administrative Officer, opened the session by providing an overview of Administrative Officers II's Key Result Areas (KRAs). She then delved deeper into their roles and responsibilities, emphasizing their critical function in the school system.
โThe strength of a school lies in the seamless coordination of its administrative functions,โ Dela Rita asserted, underscoring the vital role AOs play in ensuring efficient and effective school operations.
In addition, Cristabelle R. Jaguit, Head of the Records Unit, led an insightful session on Records Management, highlighting best practices and efficient systems to ensure organized, accurate, and accessible documentation across schools.
In the afternoon session, Adrienne B. Planas, Accountant III from the Schools Division of Bislig City, delivered an in-depth discussion on budgeting and downloading Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE). Her session provided valuable insights on effective budget utilization, financial accountability, and compliance with DepEd guidelines.
To close the first day of the training-workshop, Sheryl R. Puyo, Head of the Personnel Unit, delivered a comprehensive session on understanding DepEdโs recruitment and selection process, along with updates on the latest HR-related policies. Her discussion provided participants with essential guidance on hiring standards, merit-based selection, and compliance with current human resource protocols.
The two-day workshop will be a valuable platform for empowering Administrative Officers with practical knowledge and updated guidelines essential to their roles. As DepEd Caraga continues to invest in capacity-building efforts, it reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the administrative backbone of schools and ensuring the seamless delivery of quality education across the region.
