Butuan City, March 4, 2025 – 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗘𝗱) 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗮 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻’𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗞𝗶𝗰𝗸-𝗢𝗳𝗳 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘆, 𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟯, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗶𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻’𝘀 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁.

The event commenced with a vibrant motorcade from Guingona Park to Caraga State University (CSU) in Barangay Ampayon, Butuan City, symbolizing unity and collective advocacy for women’s rights. Various stakeholders, including government agencies, local government units (LGUs), educational institutions, and civil society organizations, joined the procession in a strong show of support.

Following the motorcade, a program at CSU featured inspiring messages from key officials, cultural performances, and discussions on empowering women across all sectors of society. Dr. Adrilene Mae Castanos, Cherry Botona, Fe Baring, and Sheila Abenido represented DepEd Caraga at the event, reinforcing the agency’s commitment to integrating gender and development perspectives in education and fostering an environment that supports women’s advancement.

The 2025 National Women’s Month Celebration carries the theme “Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas,” emphasizing the vital role of women in national development. It also highlights the fundamental goals of Republic Act 9710, or the Magna Carta of Women, which seeks to ensure women’s empowerment, advance gender equality, and guarantee fair and just access to resources, leadership roles, and opportunities across all sectors of society.

This year’s observance also commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW), celebrating five decades of advocacy for women’s rights and empowerment.
