In an ongoing effort to enhance the overall Palarong Pambansa experience and ensure individuals' holistic development, delegates from the Caraga region attended a general orientation today as they gear up for the upcoming competition. The event was held at Lahug Elementary School Gymnasium on July 2, where athletes, coaches, and officials gathered to receive crucial information and guidelines for the national games.
The orientation covered various topics, including billeting-quarter management, safety protocols, health and wellness, athletes' and coaches' rights protection, event schedules, monitoring and evaluation, logistical arrangements, and other support services. Each head of the committee emphasized the importance of ethical conduct, teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship, encouraging all participants to strive for excellence.
Moreover, athletes and coaches raised queries during the event. The regional technical working group addressed these concerns by explaining the steps taken to mitigate these issues and concerns.
"This activity today is crucial for our delegates to understand the expectations and standards of the Palarong Pambansa,โ stated Dr. Jumer C. Carlon, the Educational Support and Services Division (ESSD) Chief. โIt not only prepares them for the competition but also fosters camaraderie and team spirit among our athletes," he added.
The Palarong Pambansa, set to take place in Cebu City from July 9-15, will feature 27 sports disciplines and special events, bringing together the best young athletes nationwide. Caragaโs delegates have been training rigorously for months, and this orientation marks a significant step in their journey toward the national competition.
With the knowledge and preparation gained from the orientation, the Caraga delegation is poised to make a strong showing at the Palarong Pambansa. The entire region extends its best wishes to all its athletes, hoping for a successful and memorable competition.
