𝙀𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝘾𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙙𝙞𝙖𝙣𝙨 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙋𝙪𝙧𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙚, 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙜𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙮, 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 Speaking before hundreds of Secondary School Heads, Assistant School Heads, Head Teachers, Teachers-in-Charge, and Senior High School Coordinators at the Balanghai Hotel and Convention Center, Director Asuncion described the event as a gathering of “custodians of education and stewards of the future of the Caraga Region” who must “lead with purpose, integrity, and compassion.” “This occasion is not only a celebration of unity and professional commitment,” she said, “but also a reminder that leadership in education is not measured by outputs alone, but by the values we uphold.” 𝘼 𝙋𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙄𝙣𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 Running from January 28 to 30, the three-day congress aimed to discuss and share strategies for enhancing educational programs, develop forward-thinking leadership approaches that promote innovation, and formulate action plans and research-based solutions to institutional and instructional challenges, particularly in curriculum innovation and development in their respective schools. Also in attendance were representatives from the local government units. 𝘾𝙚𝙡𝙚𝙗𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘼𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝙞𝙣 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 Director Asuncion highlighted the region’s 2025 milestones, citing improved promotion, graduation, and transition rates, strengthened inclusion through ALS, Indigenous Peoples Education, and Madrasah programs, and sustained initiatives on health, nutrition, child protection, and disaster preparedness. She emphasized that these gains were made possible by the dedication of school heads across the region’s more than 2,300 schools and 12 Schools Divisions. “These accomplishments did not happen by chance,” she stressed. “They are the result of school leaders who worked tirelessly, often under difficult conditions, to ensure that no learner is left behind and that education remains a beacon of hope in every community.” 𝘼 𝘾𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙩𝙤 𝙀𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣𝙚𝙧-𝘾𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥 While recognizing these achievements, the Regional Director delivered a firm reminder on ethical leadership. “There is no place for corruption, abuse of authority, or moral compromise in our schools,” RD Asuncion said. “Every decision, be it administrative, financial, or disciplinary, should always be guided by honesty, fairness, and accountability. The trust placed in us by parents, learners, and the government is sacred.” She further underscored the solemn duty of school heads to value every learner, noting that education goes beyond academic instruction. “We are entrusted not only to educate, but to nurture their self-worth, dignity, and social and spiritual formation, so they may become productive and upright members of society,” she added.
