Bringas to employees: “Be mindful of others”

BUTUAN CITY – 5/11/20 Regional Director Francis B. Bringas, CESO V delivers his message during the flag raising ceremony attended by employees from the regional office and the Division of Agusan del Norte, May 11, 2020. Regional Director Francis Cesar B. Bringas, CESO V reminded all employees that health protocols observed at the regional office are meant not only as ways of self-protection but also as an invitation for everyone to be mindful of others. This he said during the second onsite/online flag raising ceremony held today at the Teacher Development Center, Butuan City, pursuant to Regional Memorandum No. 198, s. 2020 providing for a two-week work arrangement guidelines for DepEd Caraga employees under the General Community Quarantine Scheme. The regional office adopted the arrangement wherein half of employees report onsite on the first week (May 4-8) while the other half report on the second week (May 11-15). Those not reporting onsite joined the flag raising online via Google Meet, projected via wide screen TV at the site. They are expected to work from home. In this activity, RD Bringas gave a run-down of the established health protocols inside the regional office building. These include:

1. Washing of hands at the washing facility near the main gate

1. Temperature scanning upon entry

1. Using one-directional hallways and walkways (with exclusive entry/exit points)

1. Prohibiting table-hopping unless necessary

1. Observing physical distance one meter from each other

1. Wearing of face mask

1. Sanitizing work station regularly especially those high contact areas in the office

1. Bringing own lunch, cooking own food, or having deliveries; going out for lunch is prohibited

1. Providing transportation to employees without own vehicles on adjusted work schedules

1. Engaging in physical exercise every 10:00 am and 3:00 pm

RD Bringas clarified that this work arrangement shall be followed until May 15, but he quickly reminded the assembly saying, “we do not know what will happen on [May] 16 if it is going to be relaxed again into another classification of community quarantine.” He added,“We are now in a time when we should be more conscious of our personal hygiene, personal sanitation, and our being sensible and mindful of others as well. We wear mask not for yourself but for other’s protection.” The theme to be explored during the flag raisings for the month of May is the concept of  "Resilience." This morning, Assistant Regional Director Arsenio T. Cornites, CESO V shared via Google Meet his six tips to build resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic. At the site, Atty. Guibone also expounded on this concept by relating it to actual situations in real life. Ma. Paulita Sagun Lomonsod shared some health tips. END
