The pandemic hit us all unprepared. As a teacher, I had questions about how to keep going with my job, given the odds stacked against us while everything seemed difficult.
I could not afford to be discouraged by all the negativity around me. I had to step up despite the circumstances. I had to cling to a positive force, even if at times I felt small and insignificant.
During this pandemic, I trusted DepEd more than ever. I trusted that the agency would take care of me so I could take care of my learners. I followed all the mandates: from making plans to crafting activity sheets, from training to meetings, even if sometimes I could not make sense of what I was doing and even doubted the effectiveness of my output. Still, I obeyed with a submissive heart and a willing mind, believing God would do the rest.
The Learning Delivery Modality 2 (LDM2) course provided the impetus for me to work hard and be creative for my learners and the community where I belong. It captured the essence of my work as a teacher catering to the diverse educational needs of learners with the help of the community. More importantly, the pandemic pushed me to work closely with my colleagues and superiors in delivering quality education to my learners. This LDM2, as a product of effective collaboration, is truly a work of art full of heart.
With this, LDM2 gives me so much hope and promise. As a teacher, I acknowledge my shortcomings. But one thing remains constant for me. That is, the desire to improve. I always hope that things will get better. Someday, the virus will go away. In due time, education will go back to normal, and I will see my pupils again, crowding around me with their annoying and never-ending noise that I now miss terribly. Missing them toughens my resolve to be a teacher. Hence, despite the pandemic, I must keep going.
