𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐂𝐋𝐎𝐔𝐃 𝟗 𝐓𝐎 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐘

𝙱𝚢 𝚁𝚊𝚢𝚖𝚘𝚗 𝙿𝚊𝚐𝚒𝚘𝚜 𝚃𝚎𝚊𝚌𝚑𝚎𝚛 𝙸𝚗-𝚌𝚑𝚊𝚛𝚐𝚎, 𝙿𝚊𝚗𝚒𝚊𝚜 𝙴𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚊𝚛𝚢 𝚂𝚌𝚑𝚘𝚘𝚕 𝚂𝚒𝚋𝚊𝚐𝚊𝚝, 𝙰𝚐𝚞𝚜𝚊𝚗 𝚍𝚎𝚕 𝚂𝚞𝚛 𝗔𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗴𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗦𝘂𝗿, 𝗜 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗜𝗻-𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗣𝗮ñ𝗮𝘀 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹, 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗶𝗯𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘁. 𝗜𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗬 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟭-𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟮. 𝗜𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗲! 𝗜 𝗳𝗲𝗹𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗱 𝟵. The school is one of the IPEd Implementing Schools in the Division of Agusan del Sur. Getting there takes me a couple of hours on a single motorcycle ride and several hours on foot. The elevated road is rough and muddy, especially during the wet season, and sandwiched between cliffs. Serving the Manobo tribe in that area certainly requires courage, stamina, and endurance. As a neophyte school head, I needed guidance and advice from my former professors and teachers, seasoned school heads, community elders, and co-teachers. I processed their brilliant ideas and used them to conceptualize and implement desirable, doable, and client-centered innovations. In addition, I meticulously revisited the school plans, consulted our district supervisor, and dialogued with stakeholders to help me put things in perspective. The first 100 days of my being a Teacher In-charge was a roller-coaster ride. The low moment was knowing that the school was isolated, the enrollees were mostly from impoverished families, assigned teachers had no permanent items, the MOOE was minimal, and the school site was undefined. Given these challenges, I had to craft an appropriate plan. I did environmental scanning, adjusted strategies, and set attainable goals. With the help of my co-teachers, parents, and other generous stakeholders, we improved our school's physical integrity. Moreover, we provided free school supplies and strictly implemented the "no collection policy" for the next couple of years. These strategies, I believe, contributed to the increase in enrolment. I still remember the Cloud 9 feeling, but I have since returned to the stark reality at Panias Elementary School. With its clear direction already set, the school will continue providing its learners with quality educational services at par with the standards of other well-established schools. 🅴🅽🅳 NB.
