Statement of Support for Sec. Sonny Angara

The Association of Department of Education (DepEd) Directors expresses its firm support for a strong and stable leadership in the Department. At the helm of this strong and stable leadership is Secretary Sonny Angara. From the time he assumed the DepEd leadership, we saw firsthand how Secretary Angara immediately set out to fix, strengthen, and professionalize the systems he inherited. His tenure has consistently reflected integrity, transparency, and a deep commitment to meaningful reform. We have seen in his everyday decisions the sincerity of a leader determined to leave the Department better than he found it. From improving accountability and internal processes to championing initiatives that uplift the teaching profession and advance learner outcomes, his actions speak clearly of his commitment. As senior officials of DepEd, we reaffirm our full confidence in his leadership. We remain united behind his reform agenda and firm in our commitment to work with him in delivering a more responsive, accountable, and learner-centered basic education system for the Filipino people.
